Where Is Binance Available? Country List (2026)

Which countries can use Binance in 2026 — binance.com vs Binance.US, the US and UK restrictions, and how to check whether your country is supported.

Binance available countries 2026 — guide cover comparing binance.com and Binance.US, showing supported and blocked regions and how to check your country

Key takeaways

  • Binance is really two platforms: global binance.com and Binance.US for US customers. They are separate companies with separate accounts, products, and referral programs.
  • binance.com blocks US residents (since 2019), and new UK sign-ups have been paused since October 2023. Canada and the Netherlands have fully exited.
  • Binance.US is spot-only, unavailable in roughly 16 US states and territories, and does not accept the global referral code BN2688.
  • In 2026 Binance paused onboarding new EU/EEA users and withdrew its MiCA application, so European availability is in flux.
  • Regional availability changes without much notice — always check Binance's official prohibited-countries list and your own verified account.

Binance is not one platform available everywhere. It is really two platforms — global binance.com, and Binance.US for American customers — plus a patchwork of regional entities, and a long list of countries where it is blocked or paused. The short answer to “where is Binance available” is: most of the world through binance.com, but not the US (which uses Binance.US), not the UK for new users, not Canada or the Netherlands, and not sanctioned jurisdictions.

This guide maps out who can use Binance in 2026, where the referral code BN2688 actually works, and how to check your own country.

⚠️ Before you sign up: if Binance is available in your country, don’t tap Sign Up directly in the app — you’ll miss the new-user rewards. Register through an invite link or enter the referral code BN2688. Note this code applies to global binance.com only, not to Binance.US.

Binance.com vs Binance.US: two different platforms

The most important distinction to understand first is that Binance does not run one global exchange that every country shares. It runs binance.com for most of the world, and Binance.US — a separate company, BAM Trading Services — for the United States.

The two are independent in every way that matters:

binance.com (global)Binance.US
Who it servesMost countries outside the USUS residents only
ProductsSpot, futures, margin, options, earn, and moreSpot only (no futures, margin, or derivatives)
Coins500+~190+
AccountsSeparate from Binance.USSeparate from binance.com
Referral code BN2688✅ Applies❌ Does not apply (separate program)

Accounts, balances, and referral codes do not carry over between the two. If you are in the US, you cannot sign up for binance.com at all — it has redirected US users to Binance.US since 2019.

Which countries can use global Binance?

For most of the world, binance.com is available and onboarding is open. But there are meaningful exceptions. Here is the 2026 picture (checked October 2026 — regional rules change often, so treat this as a snapshot):

RegionStatus
United Statesbinance.com blocked; use Binance.US instead
United KingdomNo new retail sign-ups since October 2023; return possible in 2027
EU / EEANew-user onboarding paused from July 2026; existing users withdrawal-only
CanadaFully exited (May 2023), no return
NetherlandsFully exited (July 2023)
Mainland ChinaBlocked under the national crypto ban
Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, CrimeaBlocked (sanctions)
NigeriaNaira services ended March 2024; crypto-to-crypto only
IndiaReturned August 2024 after registration; fiat deposits limited

The takeaway: if you live somewhere not on this list, global binance.com is very likely available to you — but confirm before you assume, because the list changes.

The United States: Binance.US only

US residents cannot use binance.com, full stop. The global platform has restricted US users since 2019, and the two platforms do not share accounts.

Binance.US is a smaller, simpler exchange, and it matters for two practical reasons:

  • It is spot-only. No futures, margin, options, or derivatives — which also means the futures half of a global referral rebate does not exist there.
  • It is not available in every state. Roughly 16 states and territories are unsupported, commonly cited as including New York, Texas, Washington, Ohio, and Hawaii. Some states (like Kansas and Wisconsin) allow crypto trading but not USD deposits and withdrawals.

Because Binance.US runs its own referral program, the global code BN2688 does not apply there. If you are in the US and want a fuller, regulated experience, many users compare Binance.US against Coinbase, Kraken, or Gemini — see our Binance vs Coinbase comparison.

The United Kingdom: paused, with a return planned

Binance has not accepted new UK retail customers since October 2023, when it paused onboarding to comply with FCA financial-promotion rules. Its UK subsidiary holds no FCA authorization.

What happens next is in motion. The UK’s new cryptoasset regime was finalized in June 2026 (FCA Policy Statement PS26/9), with an application window running from 30 September 2026 to 28 February 2027. Binance is reported to be preparing an application, but any relaunch of UK services would realistically be 2027 at the earliest — and nothing is guaranteed until the FCA grants authorization.

For a new user in the UK today, Binance is effectively off the table. Our Binance review notes which alternatives are worth considering in the meantime.

The EU / EEA: onboarding paused in 2026

European availability has been the fastest-moving part of Binance’s footprint. In June 2026 Binance withdrew its MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) application, and from 1 July 2026 it stopped onboarding new users in the EU and EEA. Existing European users could only withdraw or close positions.

This means “can I sign up for Binance in the EU?” is currently no for new accounts, with the situation still fluid. If you are in Europe, check whether onboarding has resumed before attempting to register — this is exactly the kind of change that happens with little notice.

Does the referral code work everywhere Binance is available?

No — and this is where the availability question matters for the referral code.

  • On global binance.com, the code BN2688 applies the 20% spot and futures fee rebate described in our referral code guide.
  • On Binance.US, BN2688 does not apply — that platform has its own referral program with different terms.
  • In paused or blocked regions, you cannot onboard at all, so there is no account to apply a code to.

Even within binance.com, Binance runs separate local entities with separate terms, so the exact rebate shown in your account is the one that counts. The code must be applied at sign-up and cannot be added later — which is why confirming your region before registering matters.

How to check whether Binance works where you live

Regional availability changes without much notice, so don’t trust a screenshot or an old list. Check three places:

  1. Binance’s official prohibited-countries list. Binance publishes a region list on its support site, and it is the authoritative source for where binance.com will and won’t onboard.
  2. Your local regulator’s register. Most jurisdictions publish a list of licensed or registered crypto firms. If Binance’s local entity isn’t on it, treat that as a red flag.
  3. The sign-up page itself. If you can complete registration and KYC from your location, Binance is available to you — your verified account is the final word.

One practical rule: if you are in a restricted or paused region, do not try to work around it with a VPN or a borrowed identity. Binance’s terms prohibit it, and a workaround account can be frozen or closed, taking your funds with it.

What to do if Binance isn’t available where you live

If you fall into one of the restricted or paused categories, you have options that don’t involve breaking the rules:

  • Wait for the status to change. The UK and EU situations are in motion, and both could reopen for new users in 2027.
  • Use a local or licensed alternative. In the US, that means Binance.US, Coinbase, Kraken, or Gemini. In the UK and EU, look for FCA- or MiCA-authorized exchanges. Our best exchange for beginners covers the trade-offs.
  • Keep the security basics. Whichever exchange you choose, the same rules apply: official domains only, 2FA on, and never share your seed phrase. See how to secure your exchange account.

The bottom line

Binance is available in most of the world through global binance.com, but it is not one universal platform. The US uses the separate, spot-only Binance.US; the UK and EU have paused new onboarding (with returns possible in 2027); Canada, the Netherlands, mainland China, and sanctioned jurisdictions are blocked. The referral code BN2688 applies to binance.com only. Because availability changes without notice, check Binance’s official region list and your own account before you register — and if it is available to you, sign up through a link rather than directly in the app.

If you can use Binance, start with how to create a Binance account and how the referral code works. If you are comparing platforms first, our Binance review covers the full picture.

Frequently asked questions

Where is Binance available?
Binance operates globally through binance.com, but with a long list of exceptions. The US has its own separate platform, Binance.US. The UK, EU/EEA, China, Canada, the Netherlands, Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, and Crimea are restricted or blocked to varying degrees. The authoritative list is Binance's own prohibited-countries page, which changes often.
Can I use Binance.com in the US?
No. binance.com has blocked US residents since 2019 and redirects US users to Binance.US, a separate company (BAM Trading Services) that is spot-only and unavailable in roughly 16 states and territories. A global binance.com account and its referral code do not apply to Binance.US.
Can I use Binance in the UK?
Not as a new customer. Binance has not accepted new UK retail sign-ups since October 2023, when it paused onboarding to comply with FCA financial-promotion rules, and its UK entity holds no authorization. Binance is expected to apply under the UK's new crypto regime (application window runs to 28 February 2027), with any relaunch realistically in 2027 at the earliest.
Which countries are fully blocked from Binance?
Binance blocks residents of sanctioned jurisdictions, including Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, and the Crimea region (plus parts of Donetsk and Luhansk). Mainland China also has a national crypto ban that Binance honors. Canada and the Netherlands are no longer served at all. This list changes, so check the official region list.
Does the Binance referral code work in every available country?
No. The global referral code BN2688 applies to binance.com accounts only. It does not work on Binance.US, which runs its own separate referral program, nor in regions where binance.com onboarding is paused. Even within binance.com, regional entities can have different terms, so confirm what your account actually shows at sign-up.
How do I check whether Binance works in my country?
Check three places: Binance's official prohibited-countries list on its support site, your local regulator's register of licensed crypto firms, and the sign-up page itself — if you can complete registration and KYC from your region, it is available to you. Your verified account is the final word.
